The Too Much TV Roundup- 11/28/23

Posted on the 29 November 2023 by Sirmac2 @macthemovieguy

I doubled my intake of shows from Monday. The big TV show news is that Amazon is developing a Spanish Language/Mexico version of The Boys, pretty much cementing it as their biggest franchise. Sorry, Middle-Earth fans, but once you pick up an animated spinoff, a second spinoff featuring younger characters, and then a Spanish language version… we’ll talk.

I think the better question is whether or not it will have English Audio Description. Amazon recently dropped that Italian Christmas film Elf Me and it has no EAD track. They are becoming inconsistent like Netflix.

1) The Witcher (Netflix)

English Audio Description?: Yes

Status: Renewed

I mentioned last time I watched this that I wondered who would be replacing Henry Cavill, and after this incredibly Siri centric episode, I’m not sure anyone needs to. Cavill’s Garolt is barely in the 7th episode, and it’s all about Siri’s journey thus far from a shy girl, to a boss ass… Witcher? Maybe? I guess I still have one episode to find out.

Episode Grade: B+

2) Doom Patrol (MAX)

English Audio Description?: Yes

Status: Final Season

The Butt’s are back in town, and one has to wonder if that even matters, considering their new villain can blink things out of existence. Perhaps, She can just blink the butts? I know it’s highly unlikely she will, but what are the aging Doom Patrol to do? And why can’t they all be in one place at one time? Like, we were totally missing cast this episode.

Episode Grade: B+

3) Fellow Travelers (Paramount Plus)

English Audio Description?: Yes

Status: Limited

This series is so good. I’ll even forgive it that “Young, Dumb, and Full of Cum” comment made by some twink in the middle of 1986. Like… look around you? You live in San Francisco. People like you can’t be real as late as 86. But, Matt Bomer is excellent, and the show is really developing well.

Episode Grade: A

4) Cheers (Paramount Plus)

English Audio Description?: No

Status: Ended

As Sam and Diane get closer to their wedding, or Diane leaving the show, they decide to give each other a 24 hour break to do… whatever. Let’s see how that works out.

Episode Grade: B
