The Marvels box office is not just reflective of Marvel fatigue, but also the impact of the strike. Two of the films lead characters are being played by rising stars from Disney plus shows, and were unable to promote the film. Disney should have pushed this back, and now they have their lowest opening ever.
9) Name That Tune (Hulu)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Unknown
honestly, just the most underwhelming episode. Jeff Ross knew all the songs until he got to the final, and then Tig knew all the songs, yet somehow Nicole ended up in the finale. Baffling.
Episode Grade: C+
8) Futurama (Hulu)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Ended
Still back in Season 3, where this show lacks audio description. Bender bends things, which launches backstory and eventually a love interest for the episode.
Episode Grade: B-
7) The Gold (Paramount Plus)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Limited
Moderately interesting at times. I liked how the courtroom segments were interesting, but I still think this should be shorter as a series.
Episode Grade: B-
6) Still Up (Apple Plus)
English Audio Description?: yes
Status: Unknown
One goes to get a sleep study, but basically spend the whole night talking to the other, who is nervous about a job interview and is also dog sitting.
Episode Grade: B
5) Smash (Roku)
English Audio description?: No
Status: Ended
Starting into the second season, we get some amazing vocals from Jennifer Hudson and new cast addition Jeremy jordan, while Marilyn suffers a setback, and we start the subplot that slowly killed the show where they started working on an inferior musical. Sorry, but Broadway Here i Come is no Let Me Be your Star.
Episode Grade: B+
4) Bosch Legacy (FreeVee)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Renewed?
This second episode of the season was intense. i should have technically given it unwatchable, but no one kidnaps Bosch’s daughter, and Titus Welliver was giving so much this week, that I let this episode slide. It was intense, and well acted, but I can’t let it go above this grade without audio description.
Episode Grade: B+
3) Killing It (Peacock)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Unknown
I feel like Season 3 is going to be weird now, but they certainly took some big swings in the season finale, and even though Season 2 isn’t as strong as the first season, they tied up their story rather nicely.
Episode Grade: A-
2) Sex Education (Netflix)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Final Season
Ruby’s backstory helped to ground the episode, while Maeve has a tough day at college, and even Otis’s mom and aunt had strong moments. Basically, everyone stole this episode except Otis. Watching Gillian Anderson just sitting there crying makes me wonder why she hasn’t been nominated for this show yet at the Emmy’s.
Episode Grade: A-
1) Loki (Disney Plus)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Unknown
Whether we see a third season or not, there is nothing more compelling than a villain who has redeemed themselves. Loki finally understands what it means to truly be a hero, in the vein of iron Man, and he makes the kind of decision that benefits everyone but him. It’s amazing to see how they get from point A to B, and how this episode possibly could solve the Jonathan Majors problem for marvel if they want to cut ties.
Episode Grade: A
