I’m getting a little tired of renewals not meaning anything anymore. Peacock has reversed its decision on a second season of Bumper In Berlin. Why even bother with renewals? Why lie to fans if your plan is to just piss them off later on by yanking the show away? It’s not like Peacock has a ton of hit original programming.
10) Desperate Housewives (Hulu)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Ended
This sprawling cast is down by one as the show opens with a character death. Not a major character. I’m not even truly certain I grasped who the character was, but it seemed to effect the women of Wisteria at least somewhat. Other little developments included Carlos coming home to Gabrielle, and Felicity Huffman getting creative at getting her kid into day care. however, this show is a pain in the ass to follow without audio description, and half the time I’m wondering… who is this? Who is speaking?
Episode Grade: unwatchable
9) All Rise (OWN)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Final Season
OWN is burning off the last 10 episodes of All Rise finally, and while I enjoyed the cases for the most part, this was a tough episode to follow. I actually had to look up the show and read a recap of the episode after just having watched it, to figure out who died in the episode. I literally couldn’t follow that. Not to mention, it’s been a year and a half since the last episode, and I’ve forgotten everything and almost everyone. Also, there were loud sound effects that had people on edge (because the previous episode had an active shooter in the courthouse) and without audio description, there’s nothing to tie those sounds too. Sadly, even though legal dramas usually work mostly without audio description, this one did not.
Final Grade: unwatchable
8) Minx (Starz)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Not Yet renewed
As much as I love this show, and I’ve given it a pass every other week, this episode had too much working against it. Not only did it feature a weird interview process in the woods for international Minx editors that I never quite understood what was going on, but I didn’t get that the woman was hit by the car until it is mentioned later in the dialog. They finally have to do the photo shoot at the bathhouse, and without audio description, all of the stuff happening is lost on me. Then a police raid happens, and I wanted audio description even more. This kills me, but this episode really truly cannot be graded.
Episode Grade: Unwatchable
7) The Summer I Turned Pretty (Amazon)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Renewed
I don’t know what this show wants from me as an audience member, or what it is trying to accomplish anymore. These kids are still in the vacation spot. Connor has presumably missed that exam and flunked his biology test. I guess Steven and Belly’s mom has given up on contacting them. Julia is revealed as still the worst person ever, as she even loses the support of her own daughter, who admits she knows her mom is selling for all the wrong reasons. I keep telling myself I’m going to stop watching, then I don’t.
Episode Grade: C
6) Chip And Dale’s Rescue Rangers (Disney Plus)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Ended
I just enjoyed how there was a musical number during this episode, really for no apparent reason, but it did entertain me for a few minutes.
Episode Grade: B-
5) Alf (Peacock)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Ended
I’m so confused by this episode. The family had to go out, and they wanted Alf to be hidden from the neighbor. There didn’t appear to be any of the kids in the house, as she certainly never checked on them, and seemed to assume the house was empty. Does this family really invite their neighbor to house sit for a few hours? What Alf was doing, especially by scaring the thief away, was cute, but this episode made no sense. I’m enjoying Alf though. I had never watched this show until now, only ever saw him as the cartoon version.
Episode Grade: B-
4) Strange Planet (Apple Plus)

Status: Not Yet Renewed
A mom is taking her kid to college, and the manager has to go get coffee beans, and is worried about who she left in charge of the restaurant.
Episode Grade: B+
3) The Good Wife (Paramount Plus)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Spinoff Coming At Midseason
Alicia does what she needs to do in order to make sure she stays over Cary. Don’t worry, we all know Cary hasn’t left the show for good. I guess we have to wait and see how he gets back in. Special guest appearance by Vernon Jordan.
Episode Grade: B+
2) Solar Opposites (Hulu)
