The Too Much TV Roundup- 01/30/23

Posted on the 31 January 2023 by Sirmac2 @macthemovieguy

OMG. We are almost done with a whole month in January. Well, you should be able to predict my number one. it broke the damn internet. But what else did I watch?

6) The Crown (Netflix)

English Audio Description?: Yes

now this season is behind me. Please make Season 6 better. For the sake of everyone. Although, the idea that Diana was power voting to get rid of the monarchy made me laugh. Who knows if there is any truth to that, but i found it hilarious that she was voting like a teenager in the early days of American Idol… but to end the monarchy.

Episode Grade: C+

5) Emily in Paris (Netflix)

English Audio Description?:Yes

Emily and the gang have to deal with diva fashion designers. One they currently represent, who wants to pitch the most absurd line of uniforms to an airline, and the other is a former client who sold his existence away, and now is unhappy. oh, and the episode ends with the Emily In Paris version of a jump scare.

Episode Grade: B

4) The Recruit (Netflix)

English Audio Description?: Yes

This was a fun episode, and I’m starting to dig the vibe, but also… the show really does nothing with all those people who pulled him out of the water. I don’t know what the point of that was, or if it will ever be revisited. This show did get a second season, so I’d say go ahead and jump in. It’s a bit silly at first, but you settle in.

Episode Grade: B+

3) Fleischman is in Trouble (Hulu)

English Audio Description?: Yes

The problem with yesterday was that two other shows were also excellent. The first, being this one, and seeing Jesse Eisenberg’s doctor move through another processing stage of grief. But the show gains huge props not just for the entertainment value, but for letting Eisenberg show off parental ferocity when the summer camp his kids are at essentially slut shames his daughter, while giving absolutely no repercussions to the boy. Man, i would have knocked that counselor across the room. “his parents are in Switzerland”. Fuck you, dude.

Episode Grade: A

2) Kindred (Hulu)

English Audio Description?: Yes

As our time travelers try and figure out how to leave, and if they can take her mom back with them, we start seeing even more problems arise. I’m pretty sure anyone named Temperance in any form of media has always been inherently evil. There’s probably a wiki on that. Man, that girl is a huge parenting failure.

Episode Grade: A

1) The Last Of us (HBo MAX)

English Audio Description?: Yes

I want to put a plus next to this episode, but I can’t. As amazing as this episode was, and how beautiful the story is, it did not help the “only two people survive in this series” aspect we’ve got going, and Nick Offerman’s Bill was SO ready for this apocalypse. He would ahve been so useful. But hey, it was a beautiful and well done episode, and I throw so much love and support to Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett.

Episode Grade: A
