The Thin Beauty - HP's new laptop for hardcore business users

HP has come out with a new laptop which is thinner and lighter than the MacBook Air.  This Windows 8 machine is called the EliteBook Folio 1020. HP is claiming that the machine is thinner than MacBook Air but is not going to take on MacBook Air.  The EliteBook Folio 1020 is designed keeping the office users in mind and it is quite a rugged, sturdy and tough machine.

The EliteBook Folio 1020 laptop includes an enterprise port and finger print reader for security. It comes in two different models. It has an 8GB RAM, an SSD that ranges from 128GB to 256 GB and a battery life of 9 hours.  It runs on Intel Core M processor and the laptop does not have a fan. Since there is no fan the machine is quieter and cooler machine.

Two Models

Only one model of the laptop is lighter than the MacBook Air. The standard edition is a bit heavier and includes a 12.5 inch, 1080p display and can be upgraded to include a touch screen. The special edition is lighter when compared to the other model and has a weight of 2.27 pounds. The body of this model is made out of carbon fiber and magnesium-lithium alloy.

The special edition includes a 12.5 inch, quad HD display, but without a touch screen option. It has a sweet red accent on the hinges and the standard edition is expected to be in the market in February and the special edition in April. HP is yet to announce the price of these models but the general belief is that it will be a bit expensive than the MacBook Air.

Can Be an Alternative to MacBook Air

The model looks good in the first appearance. If they can keep up the promise of excellent performance it can be an excellent alternative to the MacBook Air. HP believes that this design could finally make its way down the chain but they have still not planned anything as yet. This machine is designed especially for hardcore business users and is expected to be a revolution.

The laptop has passed the military-grade drop test and shock test mentioning that business people are sometimes clumsy with their gadgets.  The machine is unbelievably thin but the HP EliteBook Folio 1020 series runs all day to help you work quicker and elegantly. The laptop is superior in quality, reliability and durability and this is the stamp of the EliteBook series.

Tested to the Maximum

These laptops from HP are specially designed to face the strictest standards and have been tested to the maximum by widespread third-party testing. The laptops have passed the MIL-STD tests and this laptop goes through shock, vibration, pressure, humidity and extremes of temperature tests also. It has the capacity to endure the strictness of the workday and much more.
