The Terrible & Radioactive Truth in The Pacific Ocean

Posted on the 28 August 2013 by Ningauble @AliAksoz

The toll humanity has taken on this planet has reached terrible heights. Look at this out-of-control flow of death and destruction that is Fukushima.

TEPCO is finally admitting that 20-40 trillion becquerels (a becquerel is one radioactive disintegration per second) of radioactive tritium has been leaking to the Pacific Ocean all along and it’s NOT over…

It now appears that from 300 to possibly over 450 tons of contaminated water that contains radioactive iodone, cesium, and strontium-89 and 90, is flooding into the Pacific Ocean from the Fukushima Daichi site EVERYDAY.

Radiation-640x474

Japanese experts estimate Fukushima’s fallout at 20-30 times as high as as the Hiroshima and Nagasaki nuclear bombings in 1945.

“[... Tepco's] appallingly shoddy handling of radioactive water that is leaking from the crippled plant into the sea.

[...] At the No. 3 reactor, highly radioactive “mystery steam” has been spotted.

The fact that radioactive substances are still being released into the ground, the sea and the air is irrefutable proof that the nuclear disaster of March 2011 is not over. The responsible parties must take this situation gravely [...]

The utility’s glaring ineptitude with crisis management was noted right from the start of the Fukushima disaster. [...]

[...] we have zero faith in the utility’s reliability as an operator of any nuclear power plant. In fact, allowing the company to handle nuclear energy is simply out of the question.

The entire company now needs to be focused on preventing radioactive substances from escaping into the environment. [...]

It is impossible to recover the pre-disaster environment, and it is unrealistic to think that all affected areas can be decontaminated. ” Says Asahi.

An MSNBC article in April of 2012 reported that polar bears and seals were found to have “external maladies” that consisted of fur loss and open sores, obvious signs of radiation burns from the Fukushima meltdown, despite the conclusions of the article. Since the summer of 2011, scientists have observed several dozen living and dead Pacific Ocean marine mammals with strangely similar skin conditions, sores and hair loss. These animals may be suffering from ‘beta burns,’ which are caused by significant external exposure to ‘beta emitters’ such as radiostrontiums, which were released in copious quantities to the Pacific Ocean at Fukushima Daiichi in 2011. The radiation also appears to be causing an epidemic of dead and starving Sea Lions in California and the FDA has refused to test for radiation.

  • Suffering of animals and destruction of nature are not dire or important enough for ye? Almost a third more US West Coast newborns may face thyroid problems after Fukushima nuclear disaster and co
  • ntaminated water from Fukushima reactors could double radioactivity levels of US coastal waters in 5 years. How does that sound?

Incredibly worrisome levels of cesium, including short-lived radioactive cesium-134 – which is marker for strontium-90 – causes bone cancer and immune-disorders; babies are ‘sponges’ for calcium and strontium -, have been found near Hawaii in the LOWEST part of the marine food chain: plankton. Contamination levels up the food chain – due to bio-accumulation – must be much higher.

According to scientists, the only safe level of radiation is ZERO. But governmental limits in food are set well above zero. And these limits actually increase every decade or so.

So my friends let’s decide, do we accept ZERO as an answer and wait until we tame this destructive power or we accept the limits and risk what comes after?

Some other important information includes these;

Some claim that FDA is telling media and consumers it is ‘testing fish.’ It is testing imports and not testing U.S.-caught wild seafood and uses faulty dose calculations that low-ball rate of cancer carnage by several magnitudes. Genetic harm from cesium’s gamma rays ignored in dose models.

Bluefin tuna will grow in radioactivity over years with each migration back to West Pacific; older caught fish will be hotter.

All Pacific migratory fish are probably Fukushima contaminated.

Which means this:

We need to stop eating Pacific wild seafood now .

Let’s go out there, collect information and find the truth so that we can share it.

This does not sound good for the oceans and it's wildlife. Think about where your seafood comes from!
