The Talk.

The Talk.
I remember the weeks before I got married Zahara would say "Mommy once you and Ricardo marry can I call him daddy?" I would always tell her yes but only if she really wanted to. Well, on 11-11-11 (our wedding day) she automatically started calling him daddy. It was so natural and it made both of us so happy to see how happy she was about our marriage. Almost 7 months later and Zahara still talks about the day we got married. She has met her biological father and she has spent time with him but that was over 2 years ago, she hasn't mentioned his name since. This used to sadden me but now I believe that God gave her the father that she deserves. Why would I want a man like that in her life anyway? The thing that I am not ready for is the future talk that we must have about him. My husband says we shouldn't tell her anything unless she mentions it, but I would hate for her to hear it from someone else. She will be 5 years old this year but I don't think she is quite ready for that conversation. I have let go of alot of feelings and emotions concerning him and his terrible decisions, but I know that I will one day have to tell her about the man boy who gave her that beautiful skin complexion and below average height (lol.)
But when do we tell her?

The Talk.

It's amazing how happy she is here, she is frowning in the 1 picture she has with her biological father. Kids are so smart.
