We attended Ingredients for Success, an event to celebrate sustainable Scottish food. The Sustainable Restaurant Association encourages all restaurants to get Sustainability Rated and show that they’re walking the walk, as well as talking the talk.
Menu created with ingredients from the nights guests.
A wealth of suppliers attended the event at The Scottish Café in Edinburgh including IQ Chocolate, Ochil Foods, Phantassie vegetables, Innis & Gunn the brewers, Cuddybridge Apple Juice, Carroll’s Heritage Potatoes, Summer Harvest Oils, Isle of Skye Sea Salt and Diageo.

As well as the suppliers, we heard four speakers who have a shared love of food, Richard Lochhead, Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, James Withers, Chief Executive of Scotland Food and Drink, Carina Contini of The Scottish Café and Guy Grieve who runs Ethical Shellfish Company. All spoke with a passion that Scotland has amazing resources which should be utilised but not at an environmental cost.

It was terrific to be able to be surrounds and listen to so many people at the heart of Scotland’s food industry and know that they are as passionate about our produce and aware of our job to look after Scotland’s garden.
Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink in 2015 can’t come soon enough!
