However, a stranger comes to the door searching for a friend. It doesn’t take long before they meet the three masked people terrorize them, forcing the couple to figure out how to survive.

Verdict on The Strangers Chapter 1

The Strangers Chapter 1 is a reimagining of the iconic horror movie of the same name. It sees a couple getting terrorized by three masked strangers and needing to figure out how to survive the ordeal.

This remake, yes we are calling it a remake, follows much of the original idea, with a few modern tech updates. However, it is filled with horrendous character development, with the couple’s biggest development being that they get hungry a lot. Meanwhile, they make baffling decisions. When it comes to the iconic three, they are the stars of the show. The appearances make you jump, are creepy and the masks hide the emotional mentality. However, the fact this is set up to be a new trilogy means it felt like it lacked enough stakes to be convincing.

Final ThoughtsThe Strangers Chapter 1 lacks conviction, scares, or excitement.
