One great thing about music in the digital age is finding a great album that seemingly comes out of nowhere, and that is exactly where I’m at with The Sophomores recently released album “The Sophomore Slump: A Tale of Two Cities”. The Sophomores are made up of two Morehouse grads – JUScervantes & VeuveRAY – who live in Los Angeles and New York City respectively. The record features tight production and intelligent lyrical flow, and the funk, jazz and soul samples give it an old-school feel while the beats keep it sounding fresh and modern. This one has arrived just in time for summer and will be in heavy-rotation around here. Stream it below, download it here and definitely keep an eye on these guys.
