The soothing scent of lavender

Lavender is known for its beautiful scent and its rich colour too. Some people like to grow lavender in their gardens while others grow a potted version instead. It depends on the amount of space that you have available as well as personal preferences. Here are some ways in which you can use lavender in your daily life.

Lavender products

Lavender is used as an ingredient in many different bath and body products. These include bath gels, aromatherapy oil, soaps, lotions, teas, and candles. All of which are designed to help relax the body and mind. By lowering stress levels, you will enjoy the soothing power of lavender. You can use some products on a daily basis while others are best reserved for those days when you have some extra time to pamper yourself.
Healing power

If you are feeling unwell or simply exhausted you could do with some lavender. This herb is excellent for soothing headaches, allergies, muscle pains, inflammation, burns, skin irritations, and even toothaches. It also helps reduce anxiety. Lavender tea is particularly effective when stress is your greatest problem. Essential oil can also help sooth the mind and body. Add to your bath water or use in an oil infuser to fill your home with that soothing scent.

Peaceful sleep

Lavender is very relaxing which is why it is used to help aid those with insomnia or other sleep problems. You can use dried lavender or essential oil on your pillows. Alternatively, you can use a diffuser to fill your bedroom with this soothing scent. This is an excellent method for adults as well as infants. Many people agree that lavender baby products help get baby ready for bed and essential oils help keep baby relaxed throughout the night.

Decorating

If you like, you can even decorate your home with a bunch of lavender. You don't need to display them with any other flowers or foliage since they look perfect all on their own. Potted lavender plants are also excellent because you will have a regular source of the fresh herb. Just make sure that you prune it regularly because it can quickly outgrow its pot.
