The Cabinet has approved making the song ‘දන්නෝ බුදුන්ගේ ශ්රී ධර්මස්කන්ධා‘ ‘Danno Budunge Sri Dharmaskandha’ a national heritage.
The song was written by written by John de Silva and composed by Mr. Vishwanath was included in the drama Sirisangabo in the year 1903. The song is about 120 years old for year 2023.
The proposal to make the song a national heritage was presented by the Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena acting in his capacity as the Minister of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government to the cabinet of ministers for approval.
