I did get to sit down yesterday with Roy Samuelson and talk about his new book in an interview over on my YouTube. So, check that out, buy his book at Roy Samuelson.com/book
TV News: Haven’t had anything really good in a hot second, then WBD went and cancelled Sesame Street. Of course, they are shopping themselves around, and it would be insane if no one picked them up. Disney, I’m looking at you. You already dominate kids content, and own The Muppets. Make it happen.

Podcasts: None
YouTube: once again, I did watch a few channels due to watching some unwatchable films that had no audio description. Of those I remember, I would recommend The Oscar Expert, Cody Leach, Killjoy Jake, Peter Bradshaw, and 3C.
Movies Watched: Joker Folie Aux Duex (MAX) with audio description, Soundtrack To A coup d’tae (Screener) no audio description, Green Border (screener) no audio description, The mousetrap (Peacock) no audio description, and only because it was the next title it started to play… Winnie The Pooh Blood and Honey 2 (Peacock) no audio description.
Best Episode Watched: Silo- Solo really took it to another level this week didn’t he? But really, this week we really expanded and put a lot into one episode. I was seriously impressed.
Runner Up: Black Doves- Seeing the backstory for Ben Whishaw’s character helps to further shape the story.
Best Individual Performance: Steve Zahn (Silo)- Zahn has really done some Emmy worthy work so far as the clearly unbalanced Solo, but he takes the phrase “another level” to another level. Absolutely brilliant.
Runner Up: Kathy Bates (Matlock)- In this episode, she helps to get justice for a family that lost their child due to contaminated baby formula. What made her performance different, was sitting down and sharing a bit about her relationship to her own daughter, as well as this really showing the toll this espionage has been taking on her.
Best Audio Description: Black Doves- So many tense action sequences. Who is repair shop? The backstory behind Ben Whishaw’s character, and his former lover, and how that all fell apart was well described. A lot to describe, and it did a good job doing it.
Runner Up: Silo- So close. This has such a huge ensemble, and also a lot happened here, and they really managed to keep a lot afloat. It was basically a toss up.
Best Moment Of Audio Description: La Máquina- There’s a sex scene in Episode 2 that I thought had some interesting and fresh description, instead of the typical thrusting. While they didn’t use the term “fucking”, they found a way to make it feel more like that, than “making love”.
Runner Up: Silo- Just for capturing Rebecca Ferguson for being the most shook character of 2024.
Worst Episode: Papa’s House- I love the Wayans. I’m still watching. I want this show to be better.
Worst Performance: There’s a girl in The mousetrap, which is already one of the worst movies of the year, whose line readings made me want to put my head into a wall. Nothing came even close to her. Nothing. I haven’t heard line readings like that in months.
Worst Audio Description- I mean… again, we dodge any actual description here, because The Masked Singer doesn’t port audio description to Hulu, and I watched FOUR movies that didn’t even have it. The first Winnie The Pooh Blood And honey had TTS. Now it has nothing. If I could award audio description to one of those four films, it would be Green Border, because I think it’s the most profound work, with almost no English, while Soundtrack has more English if someone really wanted to listen to that without audio description for some reason. I wouldn’t recommend any of the four without it.
