Maybe it is the sheen of awards season, but I did really enjoy what I did yesterday. Plus, none of these are new, and I’ve talked about all these before.
Best Episode I Watched Yesterday: What We Do In The Shadows- A hilarious episode that had the gang going to meet other vampires, taking the monster with them, and things do not go well.
Runner Up: The Madness- I’m only mentioning it, because it was the finale, and it was very satisfying.
Best Performance From yesterday: Matt Barry (What We Do In The Shadows)- In one of the funniest episodes, he has this oddly serious moment where he explains the reason behind creating the Monster, and its being programmed to protect Nadja. For a primarily comedic performance, he really sold that for me.
Runner Up: Michael Fassbender (The Agency)- really, he has some great moments through the whole episode, but I really enjoyed the scene where his daughter thinks she’s outsmarted him, and he takes it a bit too far.
Best Overall Audio Description: The Madness
Runner Up: The Agency
Best Single Moment Of Audio Description: The madness- yelena’s Fight (No Spoilers).
Runner Up: Cruel Intentions- Lucian Being “kidnapped” while Wrapped In bedsheets and Dumped In The Pool.
Worst Episode: I generally like everything I watch, but Are You Smarter Than A celebrity needs to cycle celebrities more often. I’m fine with one stagnant celeb, but this is dull.
Worst Audio Description- what We Do in The Shadows- one of the more interesting episodes never took advantage of the gag of having all these different vampire crews, that all apparently had their own vibe, look, etc. this show never has excellent description, but it works most of the time. My decision to drive the stake in here really landed when they found “Graveyard Vampires”, which felt like creatively the strongest choice, but there wasn’t any distinction in what they looked like… at all. not even a generalized theme for all of them. This AD team didn’t even try, and that disappoints me.
