This week has me in beast mode outside of watching things and writing them. I should theoretically always be able to watch something and talk about it. Theoretically.

TV Shows Watched: Earth Abides: S1E1 (MGM Plus) with audio description, Interior Chinatown: S1E8 (Hulu) with audio description, The Madness: S1E3 (Netflix) with audio description, Cross: S1E3 (Amazon) with audio description, Tulsa King: Season Finale (Paramount Plus) with audio description, and The Lincoln Lawyer: S3E6 (Netflix) with audio description.

Podcasts: none

YouTube: The Awards Contender (SAG Predictions featuring The Film Drunk)

Movies Watched: Maria (screener) WITH audio description, Sing Sing (screener) no audio description, and Day of The Fight (screener) WITH audio description

I had two screeners that had audio description. Amazing. Just amazing.

Audio Description Win Of The Day: The Lincoln Lawyer. I’ve said it before, but the attention to detail on Mickey is impressive, if not sometimes obsessively scary for a show this deep. He is the title lead. In here, there’s a moment where he smiles, and it mentioned the visibility of the crows feet at the edge of his eyes. So deeply specific, but such a really interesting and continually formative description of the title character. Deluxe is slaying it. The writer here deserves a raise.

The new show on the block is Earth Abides, which I liked a lot. It is very up my alley as being an “end of days” type show. one man, everyone else is seemingly dead. he has the world to himself, or does he? The audio description was really well done, and focused a lot on things like what corpses looked like, and the vibrance of the Vegas strip. Character descriptions were pretty good, especially at the end, when we have a time jump. If you are interested in MGM Plus content, you *have* to do it as a Prime channel add on. you cannot subscribe to it as its own entity, and use their own app to get audio description. the AD only passes through for people who have the channel as an add on at Amazon, but this is an MGM Plus show, not an Amazon Prime show.
