First. My only aforementioned film became such because the damn thing was 5 hours long. So, if you were excited for it, it isn’t audio described, and it is 5 hours of the history of the entire Child’s Play franchise.
The standout moment of audio description for me, considering only 4 of the 5 programs I saw were described, actually belongs to Shrinking, which took a few visual only elements and translated those for us. From the more challenging moments, like describing how Sean was slowly starting to build with rage twice during this episode, to funnier moments, like a dog hopping from a moving vehicle, or the little notes Liz left behind for the great Harrison Ford to find. Shrinking’s second season is better than its first. It has a much stronger rhythm, and the characters are all developing nicely as an ensemble. I’m really hoping for some supporting nominations this year for both Ford, but also Luke Tenny as Sean, because his work across two seasons has been very undervalued.
