Chad Powers- I think, and I know what I’m saying here, but I think Chad Powers might be my new favorite show of 2025. In terms of actual, real, uncontrollable laughs, chad Powers has everything else beat. I haven’t laughed this hard at a sitcom in years. event he ones that make me laugh, don’t have this level of consistency to them. But listening to Chad tell ESPN that his inspiration is Benjamin franklin had me in stitches. And it wasn’t the only scene. glen Powell MUST get nominated for this. I adore Chad Powers, and the audio description ain’t bad either.

High Potential- What I will say, is that of the conglomeration of shit that this narrator has attached herself to, which typically have AD writers who must be learning to write for the very first time, I have the overall the least complaints I think about High Potential. There was a lot of opportunity to fail miserably in their Halloween episode, which had some spooky elements in it, but they did a satisfactory job. This isn’t consistently the case with the show, as it does miss a visual cue from time to time, but for this spooky episode with more room to fail, it was surprisingly adequate.

Lazarus- I’m still debating about this show. It has a short episode count as is, and my personal bare minimum for an RT review is 3. But that’s so close to finishing the series anyway. For some shows, which run longer, I’d use a 4th episode, but this is a short run, and since Lazarus isn’t impressing me, I don’t feel the need to keep going. We’ll see. it isn’t just god awful, but we are clearly starting to scrape the bottom of the Harlan Cobin barrel. According to AI (Alexa Plus), Cobin has had 11 adaptations on Netflix, and 2 on Amazon, with his deal at Netflix extending to at least two more shows. Alexa says there are 43 books. So, they’ve already essentially selected the best 15 of his works. I’d argue this man is not on the same level as Stephen King or Agatha Christie, and with each successive adaptation, we’re going to see that more and more. There are other authors.

Dr Seuss’s Horton- I’m still casually doing this. Kids shows never get talked about otherwise. It’s cute, aimed at a younger audience (much younger), and barely resembles its source material. In the third episode, they use the contents of the backpack (hello, Dora), to create a helicopter to fly over a gorge. they do this with Molly pops or something like that, but it never actually says how. I know this can spark a kids imagination, but I’d still make more of an effort to explain how an elephant creates a helicopter to help him fly. Once in the air, it says he uses his snout to push the propeller forward, but that’s about it. Food for thought. The little creature they were chasing was described well enough though.

House Of Guinness- This show became LGBTQ oriented very fast. Suddenly there’s a raid, and the gay Guinness brother finds out his trick is not a treat, and was paid to hook up with him and get him caught in this raid but has a last minute change of heart. I appreciate the effort.. for a fictional account of how Guinness came to be. I was just surprised to see this storyline take off in such a pronounced way.

The Chosen Adventures- This show is fine. the kids learn basic bible stuff. “And on the seventh day, God rested, so that’s why we rest on the sabbath.” If your kids think Veggietales aren’t cool anymore, The chosen adventures is the alternative, and Amazon has made some perfectly fine audio d description. I love that Jesus is this cartoon character now in a show aimed at kids under the age of… let’s say eight.

The Daily Show- Jon gets the best guests. I could try and nail the spelling of his name, but Stewart interviews the guy likely to become the next mayor of NYC, which is driving Republicans insane. Here in Florida, to combat his movement, we have our representatives introducing useless legislation to proclaim that Florida will never be under Sharia Law. Look, if we ever were under the threat of it, likely they’d have the same control, and either repeal this legislation, or write a new one that works around it. It does nothing, but says Florida is Islamaphobic, which is such an odd stance since trump has made such connections with Muslim countries in the Middle East like Saudi Arabia. Selling the narrative that we’re now cool with Muslim countries, will also continuing to not like that people are Muslim is very mixed messaging.

Only Murders In the building- It was Miss Scarlett in the library with the candlestick! This was the season finale, and I intend to do a full review, so wait for that. However, I did not get the killer right. Kudos to surprising me once again. It also set up Season 6, which Hulu just confirmed yesterday for next year.
