Watching all the judges stumble on The Woodpecker this week was brilliant. I’m sitting at home watching this, going “you guys are hired to do this professionally, you can actually see everything, all the visual clues, and you *still* can’t figure this out?” I called her from Day 1. Day freaking one. Meanwhile, Jenny McCarthy is over here like “Tatiana Ali?” No. Girl, bye. As far as the second reveal, if I had remembered that person existed, I would maybe have thought of her? I think they really overhyped someone who is essentially a one hit wonder.
In terms of audio description, Queens Court just needs more. Looking at what Love Is Blind is able to do, I think there has to be a way. there’s a lot of talking, sure, but Love Is blind has a lot as well. It is all about using every moment to the best of your ability. I’m also a little underwhelmed with the audio description for Disclaimer, which is working against dialog and a built in narrator. It had a 2 episode drop, so I’ll have likely stronger thoughts after a second episode. Starting Five is really doing some strong audio description for a sports centric docuseries. After enjoying Mr McMahon, I’m also really enjoying the audio description in Starting Five. Tomb Raider has OK audio description. Those are my strongest thoughts.
