Like, I’m not feeling Twilight Of The Gods at all. I actually feel really bad for the team that is doing the audio description, as this seems like the series was conceived by a horny teenager from the 1980’s. I thought maybe one animated sex scene in a mythological series would be enough, but I guess we are going to have to keep doing it. I may not finish this series. I’d rather just tap out.

While I haven’t really jumped in on most of these shows, Pachenko always strikes me with something every week. there’s just some stuff that’s done so well, or maybe even something that’s not, but it becomes a conversation piece. This week, there’s a scene where Hanzo goes and gets another member of this family and rescues them, but it’s Joseph, who is now horribly burned, and there’s this really simple scene that has them arguing, but what I loved was the simplicity of handing him a mirror, and him reacting to his burns. The description not just of his reaction, but also how you could see the burns in and around the places where the gauze was wrapped really helped that moment have depth. Later on, there’s this scene where Solomon comes home, and just the way his girlfriend is described as being asleep on the couch, and him carrying her to an actual bed was one of those romantic moments of chivalry that just stuck out. There’s a company doing this audio description, W Brothers, that I’ve never heard of before that I’m not sure has done anything else, but I love this show, and I think they make some interesting choices. Is it all perfect? no. But I’ve seen 4 episodes of a Zack Snyder produced show I’d rather get that time back, Monsters 4th episode benefits from the flashbacks to the first episode I already mentioned, la Maizon is so boring I’m barely awake, and a Very Royal Scandal clearly has the meat and potatoes in the 2nd episode.

So, Pachenko it is.
