After today, I’m one episode from the finale of Sweet Tooth (Netflix), and I’m concerned. I don’t think this show will end with them cutting open Gus, because that is dark as hell, but who knows. I need to acknowledge that this show has inept writers, yet at the same point, I love it. They’re fine, but everyone always easily finds wherever they need to go. Of course the man knocking at the church was big Man, because “Nuka pointed me in the right direction.” In a blizzard. in Alaska. where he’s never been. Same thing when the baddies show up. Did they all do the rock jump? No one accidentally stepped on a flower? And then our doctor, who was pretty adamant to big Man that he was not in the vision, yet Big Man and Gus’s mom are there. Your vision is bullshit, but he just doesn’t even seem to realize that. I’d root for the hybrids if we could find a way to keep Becky and Big Man safe. I have a feeling with our ex-football player having that line about having something to die for is going to be his thing in the final episode.

Now, I can’t spoil the ending of Presumed Innocent (Apple Plus), but I think Tommy is the killer. I said it last week, and I’m still there. Although, Raymond dropping dead in the middle of court is very disconcerting. I feel like he was about to ask some major questions, and then just died. The son mentioned that he saw other people come in and out of her house, and I’m wondering if anyone caught that. Who were the other people? It wasn’t just Rusty, he just focused on Rusty that night. Gyllenhaal is still doing a great job being an unreliable narrator, with explosive tendencies, and hilariously being unable to have self reflection that he had this long affair with a woman, so giving his wife shit over a kiss just makes him look like an ass. But, she only ever filed one HR complaint, and it was against Tommy. It shows that she was comfortable and strong enough to file an HR complaint if she felt like she needed to, and obviously she didn’t feel threatened by Rusty. The skin under the fingernails is basically irrelevant. I believe there’s a reason peter Sarsgaard is in this cast.

I finished Mulligan (Netflix), and we’ll see if it gets a third season. I could go either way. Sometimes it is funny, other times it isn’t. there are other adult animation shows that are stronger, but also ones that are much weaker.

And, one show that is stronger is Marvel’s Hit Monkey (Hulu), which I also finished. 10 half hour episodes in 2 days is possible. I still says binge watching is less fulfilling, and I won’t do it for certain shows, but others I don’t mind. This show, to me, felt like it needed to be a weekly release anyway, just in how it was assembled. It isn’t the easiest binge, where shows seem formulated to bleed directly into the next. Sometimes, you have to adjust yourself and figure out where you are, which suggests they intended a bit more for an episodic watch. Season 2 is definitely more bonkers, and I’d put it slightly below the first season as a result. Though, some moments were hilarious, and Double Tap is just a great name for a hero or villain.

I also caught up on an episode of 911 (Hulu), which was finally the Season 6 premiere! I’m now out of Season 5, and the premiere left a major character in mortal danger. Oh no!
