I am finishing shows left and right. I’m not sure why Outer Range only had a 7 episode second season, I’m just happy Amazon gave it one. I loved season two, which really opened up the lore a lot more, and gave the supporting characters more room to breathe. I hope it gets a third season, so we can see more of where this is headed. It fascinates me. Will Patton is exceptional, a character actor too frequently overlooked, but his work on here is really strong. Even Josh Brolin is doing some of his best work. I hope this has enough of an audience for Amazon to stick with it. I know it isn’t Fallout, but that is a weirdly high bar to set for all shows. Also, a big shoutout to the audio description team for their exceptional work, as this show isn’t easy to describe, with all the trippy imaginary daydream type stuff every time someone tastes the black substance. Roy Samuelson’s narration is terrific.

I’m also really pulling for a third season of The Big Door Prize (Apple Plus), because I need to know what just happened. What does it all mean? The season finale has so many cliffhanger big questions that need resolving. Also, I’m loving the new couple, as it gives so many more layers to the Mayor who is typically a one note character. It was nice to see her character make the choice she does in the season finale.

Pretty Little Liars: Summer Camp (MAX) is very weird. No one died this episode, which was a relief of sorts since I felt like someone might. Instead, one of the girls was forced to run barefoot outside down a path pre-set by Kevin McAllister from home Alone, while being chased by a very angry dog. Who is the killer? I feel like they’re trying to not go obvious here, and that church is far too highly suspect, and now the girls are “onto” their psychiatrist. Johnny and Christian have been in visible locations away from where Rose is, that they would need two Rose’s for it to be either of them. If it was two, the fact that Jen knew where to pick her up at is highly suspect. My leading contender is still string bean, back from the pool sequence.

Queenie (Hulu) really needs better love interests. Like, I’m in Episode 4, and I’m wondering what is up with the men in her life. Queenie needs to find someone normal. Shoutout to Tansy Alexander on that audio description.

And lastly, Tires (Netflix), which I can’t believe I’m still watching. But I’m watching it more for all those people who keep saying “they can’t do that joke anymore”, because they are, and if Shane gets renewed, he apparently can. It’s like his brand is being cancelled, but also somehow cancellation proof. I don’t think his stuff is mean spirited, but he is definitely making jokes virtually no one else is making, at the crudest level.
