Posted on the 17 May 2026 by Sirmac2 @macthemovieguy

Coming this week… the streaming premieres of The Bride (HBO MAX) and Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair (Peacock), as well as big streaming movies like a feature length Jack Ryan with John Krasinski (Amazon) and Ladies First (Netflix) with Sacha Baron Cohen. As most shows are wrapping up their seasons, not a lot of new standouts, except the high profile The Boroughs (the newest limited series produced by The Duffer Bros) and Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed (Apple) with Tatiana Maslany. There’s also a new adult animation on Netflix from the team behind Big Mouth, MAting Season (Netflix).

TV Shows Watched: Man on Fire: S1E1 (Netflix) with audio description, Criminal Record: S2E2 (Apple) with audio description, Good Omens: S3E1 (Amazon) with audio description, Scrubs: S10E4 (Disney Plus) with audio description, Stumble: S1E10 (Peacock) with audio description, and Celebrity Jeopardy: Semifinals Round 1 (Disney Plus) with audio description

Man On Fire- I need to rewatch the film. I wasn’t a huge fan back in the day, though it was stylish, and had good performances, but I think I only saw it once in its theatrical release. I’m super sad about the exit of a certain character in the pilot, but that’s the point. Yaya Abdul Mateen has an impossible task of following Denzel Washington, but we’ll see how he does. The AD here was terrific. IDC, narrated by Sri Gordon. A very solid start to the series. I wonder if they leave it with the finale of the film, or if they want to do more than one season.

Criminal Record- A pretty solid second episode, where our lead is worried about getting home in time to see her son off who has decided to live with his dad for a bit, while also running a high stakes game with a possible informant, trying to get a deal approved for him before any of the bad guys find out. Solid description. I thought they found all the little details that we absolutely needed, and made them pop. From blonde hair, to surveillance shots ratcheting up the tension, it was well done.

Good Omens- The weird one episode season. Amazon allowed this to have a finale, even though the whole Neil Gaiman of it all. It was pretty contained, tried to wrap things up as best it could in one episode, and gave the audience a happy ending. The circumstances prevented some wonderful cameos and characters from past seasons, but they tried to do something here, and… Jesus. They added Jesus. I’m glad the AD picked up the Terry Pratchett mention. That was a nice nod.

Scrubs- JD and Turk find boys night is harder when you’re older. The new cast isn’t popping just yet, because we’re still focused on legacy characters. They seem game, but it is hard to attach to them. The AD is… well… it exists.

Stumble- I finished it, but I probably won’t review, since I have so much else to do, and my review will not save the series from its cancellation. Stumble joins the ranks of other brilliant to very promising one-and-dones that did not get the recognition they truly deserved. This was a funny series, and anyone looking for a quick 10 episode binge, I’d recommend it. It would be less than 5 hours of your life if you run Peacock commercial free.

Celebrity Jeopardy- Useless audio description. I haven’t heard Pop Culture Jeopardy on Netflix yet, but when it was on Amazon, it was so much better than this. I was surprised at how it all went down.
