I’m going out on a limb here and guessing that the President didn’t stand up for disability rights last night and demand that 17 states currently suing to declare Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act unconstitutional to drop their suits. Just a guess.

(Hulu) with audio description.
Best Episode: Love You To Death (Apple Plus)- A surprising winner, but a bunch of shows were really close. I don’t think I’ve ever put this on top, and figured today might be the best day to do that. the episode had our two leads faking a relationship to help her impress her parents. It had some emotional weight behind it toward the end.
Runners Up: Mythic Quest, Abbott Elementary, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man: All three were considered for the top spot. I think all three had been the top, so in a basic four way tie, I made these three the runners up. Mythic Quest had some funny bits around Poppy’s pregnancy, and a 17 year old video game developer, Abbott had an excellent arc for Sheryl Lee Ralph this week, and Spider-Man brought in Iron Man, and repurposed a classic line.
Best Audio description: Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man- the combat scenes won the day. The Doc Oc scene specifically was a lot of fun. Along with that comes the staggering realization that in the 8th episode, we got verbal acknowledgement from Pearl that she is of filipino heritage, and the audio description never brought up any of the diversity in the ensemble.
runner Up: Zero Day- we say goodbye to a character in this episode, and i thought the scenes revolving that were done well. Plus, some other moments.
Best Performance: Sheryl Lee Ralph (Abbott Elementary)- Finding out she was about to be a grandmother sent her character in a weird happy spiral that devolved into realizing she was getting old. She had some great lines, and her character really stood out differently from her usual performance.
Runner Up: Jon Stewart (the Daily Show)- i watch basically every Monday, because of him. But I really liked how he jumped into professional wrestling out of nowhere like he was a long time fan and educated all of us on how the politics of the WWE mirror our current state of affairs.
Best Moment Of Audio Description: Finding Doc Oc (your Friendly neighborhood Spider-Man)- If you understand his powers at all, being the extra arms, you’ll be fine. He is found by some agents who really were unprepared, and it almost felt like a horror movie fight sequence, with agents being snatched and yanked away. Good stuff.
Runner Up: RIP (Zero Day)- Don’t worry, no spoilers, but a major character is killed off, and the sequence that it happens in, as well as the detailed way his body is discovered was really well done.
worst Of…- Abbott’s description is never great. I always feel like I’m missing something. Like, there’s a sight gag reference I didn’t get. The episode itself was good. The worst thing was that Zero Day is pushing further into this “the former President is losing his mind” thing, which is the least interesting part of this show, and now has introduced a reason for his decline that is so utterly bizarre, they can’t even properly scientifically explain how it works. They bring it up, but it is so heavily leaning into the science fiction element, that they just don’t even bother to explain the actual science behind it. So, the worst part about the show, became the central focus, and became actually somehow more stupid. Only two episodes left, so I will finish this.
