TV Shows Watched: Paradise: S1E2 (Hulu) with audio description, Bookie: S2E7 (MAX) with audio description, 911 Lone Star: Second To last Episode (Hulu) No audio description, and St Dennis Medical: S1E? (Peacock) with audio description

Movies Watched: The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (Apple Store) with audio description, Hitman (Netflix) with audio description

Best Episode: St Dennis Medical- I think this might have the edge. I could make a case for any of the shows. None were at their best, but all were strong. Ultimately, I had the least glaring issues with the two comedies, and I’m giving this one the edge.

Best Performance: Gina torres (911 Lone Star)- In an episode that has an absolutely bonkers ending, the standout was torres, who has long been a standout of the series, and really does her best work in this episode as she’s given news that is not good at all. With only 1 episode left before the finale, I’m afraid her bad news is going to stick. Of all the Lone Star cast, I’ll miss her the most, even if I initially started watching for Rob Lowe.

Best Audio Description: Paradise- This was really between Bookie and Paradise, but I’m still giving this twisty treat the edge. I stand by the fact that the show has an excellent pilot, because it does exactly what a pilot should do. Introduce characters, and give us the hook as to why we should watch. Paradise arguably gave us two hooks, but the second episode that reveals more about the bigger twist, actually makes the show make less sense. However, the audio description here might be the best, as there’s a different kind of attention to detail, since this is at its heart, a mystery.

best Moment Of Audio Description: Paradise- The show is so new, I don’t want to ruin it. But, I’ll say that there’s some stuff having to do with planes. I’d give that the Best Moment, from all these four shows.

Worst Of…- I wish Hulu got audio description from FOX. but, none of these tracks were bad. the worst thing was the monotony of hearing the main girl in best Christmas Pageant Ever repeatedly referred to as “the slight girl”, like there was nothing else they could think of to describe our lead character. Once was enough. She’s called slight at least five or six times, if not more.Considering she’s the lead, and the adult version of her is narrating, you would think there would be a greater attempt at a depth in description. The whole track isn’t a wash, I just was annoyed by that one thing.
