I found out that Apple isn’t moving forward on a third season of Schmigadoon. Honestly, I was shocked they made a second. Very pleasantly surprised, as I love that show, but still surprised. Not shocked by the cancellation, especially after they also ditched The After Party last year.
I also wasn’t surprised by who won Celebrity jeopardy (Hulu) this week. That’s the person that I assumed would win the whole thing, so the fact they made the final three doesn’t shock me.I laughed at the audio description. At the very end, when our lovely narrator is filling in that lead out time, she mentions that Ken is talking inaudibly. Well, yeah, I can hear that it’s inaudible. I get what she was trying to say, but it just made me giggle. There was an earlier moment when one of those commercial breaks happened that there was a mention in the cut to commercial that two of the contestants were talking even though it wasn’t heard, it was just funny that now we were told the inaudible part.
Justified: City primeval (Hulu) waited until Episode 6 to get good with that episode ending, some major deaths, and finally I’m awake. What If (Disney plus) explored more Captain Carter as she tried to save Steve the same way Bucky was saved in the actual timeline. The end to that episode was a bit of a mindfuck, and I’m hoping we hear about it in the next episode.
Squid Game: The Challenge (Netflix) did EXACTLY what I thought it would. I’m surprised. Did no one look at that picnic basket and think… remember the TV show? In the show, they were in the challenge where they were with people they liked, and then realized one of them wouldn’t survive the challenge. No wonder we’ve been following this mother/son duo. I’ll see how that all falls in the next episode. But I would have immediately teamed up with a rando if I was in that room. Hell to the yes. I saw that coming a mile away. Sri Gordon’s audio description is still excellent by the way.
Found (Peacock) wrapped its season, and things are not looking great for Sir, and we see some moments coming full circle. I think this show has a really short shelf life, but they did make me interested in seeing a Season 2 premiere at least.
And Bookie (MAX) is still a mixed bag. Like, the doctor placing bets during surgery is funny, until you realize there’s no way he’s alone, and he’s performing open heart surgery. He’d be fired in seconds. Possibly, during the actual surgery, if they had another cardiologist. Comedy can make some leaps of logic, but sometimes, it just doesn’t work.
