First. So, I do have a job, and I work today. So I did not stay up for the entirety of the Globes, but I told the universe that I would go to bed when the first category I got wrong happened. If the universe wanted me to be awake, they had their shot. I went to bed when Ali Wong won for Beef. The narration was fun. It’s live, and trying to describe what these stars are wearing is so hard. As a former sighted person, I can’t even imagine trying to convince an audience that Bork is wearing a swan, or Lady Gaga is wearing meat. I loved the little things the narrator obviously knew about the stars, like mentioning how Emily Blunt stood next to her husband John Krasinski. It’s stuff we don’t need, but as long as it’s correct. I support it. Great work, and a bitch of a job.
I actually only watched/started 2 shows today, being conservative as there are a bunch of debuts this week I want to get into immediately. i only sat through two new Netflix shows, Berlin (Netflix), which is “meh”, and has “meh” description from Difuse. I’m moderately interested in the series, which is amazing since I never watched Money heist. The other, Fool Me Once (Netflix), is one of those Harlan Cobin mysteries that messes with your brain, like how everyone loved Shelter. usually, these are all one-and-dones. But, this one, about a man being murdered who may not be dead, and maybe there is a cover up, and his widow is losing her mind hooked me on the first episode.
I saved room for cake. Basically, this week has 4 shows I’d like to try and get into immediately. FOX’s The Great North returns, and even though it never has AD, it’s a rare new animation I’m actually enjoying, largely because Nick Offerman is the GOAT. But three new series have my attention. Echo (Disney Plus), Ted (Peacock), and the second season of The Traitors (Peacock) all start this week. I am hoping to see them all as close to immediately as possible.
