Adam writes…
Reared as I was on Cold War paranoia and apocalyptic science fiction movies starring Charlton Heston, I've always had an eerie feeling in the Jubilee Line sections of the London Bridge tube station…
This section of the station opened in 1999 and the interior design…
… strikes me now as it did at the end of the 20th century, as being very futuristic.
The square blue tiles, with the silver stud in the middle look, to my eye…
… like drawers. Drawers forming some huge filling cabinet. Each one big enough to hold… a human body… or an inhuman one?
Back in the late 90's did Mayor Livingstone commission a private army of humanoid robots, ready to wake from their state of suspended animation at his secret signal? Are they, thousands of them, lying dumbly in the drawers at London Bridge tube station, hidden in plain sight like some futuristic morgue?
I think we should be told.
