After unwittingly predicting Trump's election as President of the United States, the producers of the "Simpsons" reacted to a projection from one of his advisers, who compared the voice of Joe Biden's running mate to that of by Marge.
ScreenshotWhen you mix The Simpsons with the vagaries of American politics, the producers' response is not long in coming. In the midst of the November presidential election campaign, Joe Biden recently named Kamala Harris as his running mate, and therefore potential future vice-president. Strongly attacked by the Republicans, especially on her origins (even though she was born in Oakland in the State of California), Harris was notably the object of an incongruous attack on the part of Jenna Ellis, legal counsel by outgoing President Donald Trump. She mocked the voice of the Democratic running mate, declaring that she sounded like that of Marge Simpson.
Faced with this statement that has gone viral, Marge Simpson herself broke down in a short video posted on the series' official Twitter account.

" In tAs an ordinary suburban housewife, I am starting to feel slightly insulted. I teach my kids not to say insults, Jenna ", declares the character, specifying that she is not however used to worrying about politics.
This is not the case for the series created by Matt Groening, who took a stand following the election of Donald Trump in 2016, when an episode of the series dating from the 2000s showed Lisa Simpson, who became President of the United States, evoking the deficit that Donald had left her Trump as his predecessor. A premonitory evocation of the future presidency of the American businessman. Following the elections of November 2016, the gag of the lines recopied by Bart on the board as punishment had then included for a week the mention " It sucks to be right "in the credits of the series.
