Episode 19 – The Front
Couch Gag – This time we get the all singing performance which seemed to be the inspiration for Family Guy.
Plot Synopsis – Bart and Lisa decide to write their own episodes of the “Itchy and Scratchy” show after they begin to grow bored with the current scripts.
What is going on really – We start with Bart and Lisa being disappointed by the lack of creative control in the cartoon Itchy and Scratchy and decide to write their own version of the cartoon.
Homer and Marge get invited to the high school reunion where Homer confuses to never being able to complete high school. Which means they are about to get out of town.
Bart and Lisa find a problem in their idea as they get ignored so they slapped Grandpa Simpson’s name on the script which makes him an overnight sensation. With this going on Homer decides to graduate high school with night classes.

Final Thoughts – This is one of the interesting episode because I like the how Bart and Lisa side of things because writing a cartoon within a cartoon works very well and we get to poke fun how cartoon works, while the Homer side of things seems to drag along.
