Episode 10 – Flaming Moe’s
Couch Gag – This time we fine a couple of burglars in the house who throw the Simpsons off the couch before walking off with it.
Plot Synopsis – Moe claims that a drink that Homer invented is his own. After the drink makes the bar a local hot spot, Moe gains a number of fair-weather friends but loses Homer’s friendship.
What is going on really – We start with Lisa having a slumber party, terrorising Bart and forcing Homer into going to Moe’s who doesn’t have any beer, this forcing Homer to explain how to make a Flaming Homer.
After showing Moe the drink, he steals it as his own which brings the life back to Moe’s making him the talk of the town and leaving Homer nowhere to drink anymore.
We even get one of the first band appearance in the show here with Aerosmith performing at Moe’s, we also get to see how Miss Krabappel is a horny teacher who would go for anything. We get a Cheers reference which is fantastic and one I never remembered.
When Homer loses his mind, and gives away the secret ingredient before they can cash in on it making $1 Million.

Final Thoughts – This must be one of best episodes so far, we get plenty of references to pop-culture that all feel genuine too. The story is great and about how Homer and Moe can get always be friends no matter what happens.
