Episode 17 – Old Money
Couch Gag – This time Grampa Simpson is asleep on the couch when the family all arrive.
Plot Synopsis – After Grampa’s new girlfriend dies and leaves him $106,000 in her will, he tries to decide what to do with it.
What is going on really – The episode starts when the family dump of Grampa back to the retirement home, realizing Homer will be old one day they decide they are going to treat Grampa next time.
Meanwhile back at the retirement home Grampa Simpson meets Bea Simmons and sparks instantly fly between the two. When the Simpsons take Grampa Simpson away for their day with him it just so happens to be Bea’s birthday but Homer doesn’t believe she is real.
When the trip ends up going overnight Bea passes away he blames Homer for missing her final moments. Abe inherits $106,000 from Bea promising not to give Homer any of it but also grabbing the attention of the people but wanting to spend the money on the things he believes to be fun.
Deciding he wants to treat someone or certain people who deserve it, listening to dreams of the whole town but who will he pick?

Final Thoughts – This is a very good episode showing that you should always look at to see how to spend money you end up getting suddenly and never know what to spend it on. It also shows that people will always have dreams but not always deserving of the money.
