The Silk Flower Advantage

The silk flower advantage

When sending flowers, you most likely think of fresh flowers first. However, there are also some amazing silk flowers on the market. Some people think of artificial flowers as cheap but they have come a very long way over the years. The silk flowers of today are just as realistic as the fresh blooms and there are so many more benefits too.

Long lasting

When you order fresh flowers, you can expect them to last for a few weeks at most. Silk flowers can last for years if you take proper care of them. Quality silk flowers will fetch a fair price but, when you consider how much you can save in the long run, the investment is certainly worth every penny.

Allergies

If you or the intended recipient suffers from allergies, the pollen from fresh flowers can be quite the headache. Fresh flowers do not have pollen which means that this is no longer a concern and you also don't have to worry about pollen making a mess on your furniture.

Early ordering

Sometimes we need to order flowers early for a special occasion. If the occasion is on a holiday and your florist cannot deliver fresh blooms on the day, then you can order a silk flower arrangement instead. They can be delivered in advance and all you will need to do is make sure that the intended recipient does not sneak a peek! You should also make sure that you store the flowers away from any sources of heat, out of the sun, and away from moisture. You will not need to worry about the flowers wilting or making sure that they have enough water.

Less care

If you are ordering silk flowers for yourself, then you will soon notice just how low maintenance they are. The stems don't need to be trimmed, the water doesn't need to be changed, and you don't have to replace the bouquet every few weeks. You only need to keep them out of direct sunlight, away from excessive moisture, and you may need to dust them from time to time. Apart from occasional dusting, these flowers will require no care. If you like, you can invest in a few different bouquets - one for every season - and rotate them out every few months.
