Verdict on The Silent Hour

Recap

The movie follows a detective who is losing his hearing while helping a witness. They become trapped by a ruthless gangster who hunts them through a tower block. The detective must use his experience to escape and bring them down once and for all.

Best Parts

The movie brings a contained environment which increases the tension. It adds in the deaf and going deaf characters to keep us wondering what will happen. We get strong performances and the use of sound to show the situation through the deaf character’s point of view.

Worst Parts

The plot feels predictable and anything that is designed as a surprise feels like something you saw coming a mile away.

Final ThoughtsThe Silent Hour is late-night thriller 101.
