Goodge Street W1
Location: The Borough of Camden
The tube station named Goodge Street actually faces out onto Tottenham Court Road and was indeed called Tottenham Court Road Station until 1908. There was once a campaign to rename it again, this time to Goodge Street Fitzrovia to create awareness of that hidden and much disputed London neighbourhood. The station takes its name from the street just around the corner, which in turn is dubbed for one John Goodge, who acquired nearby Crab Tree Field in the early 18th Century.
