The Sandman Volume 10: The Wake by @neilhimself

In the final SANDMAN tales from issues #70-75 of the acclaimed series, Morpheus makes the ultimate decision between change and death. As one journey for the Endless ends, another begins for the Lord of Dreams and his family. It's a wake in which friends and loved ones, relatives and rivals, fleeting lovers and immortal enemies gather to pay their respects and to mourn their loss.

The main Sandman series comes to an end. I enjoyed The Wake and felt it was a fitting end to a hugely enjoyable experience. Morpheus, Dream of the Endless is dead, defeated by The Sinister One. Those he loved and who loved him in return and those whose life he touched in some way have come to gather their respects or in some cases weep and berate they won't get to fight with him one last time. There is a new Dream of the Endless but he's not the same and knows it, choosing to stay out of the mourners way. There is a sombre feel to the book highlighted by the colour palate. The other books have always been very artistic and brightly coloured. The Wake is not black and white but only a few colours are used and they look washed out as if washed away by tears. A great end to a great series.
