Verdict on The Sadist

Recap

The movie follows three friends who get caught by a psychotic young man and his girlfriend. He forces them to complete tasks for him as he looks to escape. However, they know their fate so plan an attempted escape.

Best Parts

The movie uses the real-time concept to increase the intensity of the situation. It makes it feel more like a genuine life-or-death scenario. There is also some brilliant camerawork to make us see the world we are thrown into.

Worst Parts

This is a product of the time and it feels like certain moments couldn’t happen in a modern movie. It pushes the boundaries but never manages to hit the highs the concept presents.

Final ThoughtsThe Sadist has a great concept for the low budget.
