The Richest People in the World in 2021 According to Forbes

It was like no other year because there’s not the pandemic we’re talking about. Public offers, the cryptocurrency, and the asset values were rapidly shot. On Forbes’ 35th annual list of the richest people in the world, the number of billionaires exploded more than a year ago to an incredible 2,755-660. Of these, 493 new records were listed – about one every 17 hours, including 210 from China and Hong Kong. There came a further 250 that had dropped behind in the past. An astonishing 86% is wealthier than last year.

The magazine’s 35th annual richest people in the world list reached a record of $13.1 trillion, up from $8 billion on the 2020 list, an astounding 2,755 billionaires, 660 over a year earlier. 63 women are billionaires, a total of 328. The women listed as a category amount to US$ 1,5 trillion, up almost 60% over the past year.

Jeff Bezos is the fourth richest in the world, worth 177 billion dollars. And, with Tesla and Amazon’s stakes, Elon Musk rocked into the second-largest rank with 151 billion dollars.

Those billionaires total 13.1 billion dollars, up from 8 billion dollars in 2020. At 724, with China (including Hong Kong and Macao) at 698, the USA is still the most. Beijing, China, has more billionaires than anybody else in the world and, according to the paper, overtakes New York City. The US already has over 724 billionaires, with China closing the divide by 698 (including 71 from Hong Kong and 1 from Macau). India has 140 billionaires in the third-largest number.

Asia-Pacific 1.149 billionaires average 4 trillion dollars, while the US milliardaires total 4.4 trillion dollars.
