Posted on the 01 February 2013 by The_kian @the_kian
Hey Guys,
As the title suggests I am back. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to sort a logo out since I have been too busy as of late, but regardless, I am back and will be posting at least once a day.
So here is all the news I wasn't able to give to you throughout this month.

EA Shuts Down Servers for 12 games

Electronic Arts has announced it plans to shut down the online servers for twelve of its games, more or less marking the games as out of date. The games and dates of closure are listed below:
January 3, 2013: FIFA Manager 11 for PC January 11, 2013: FIFA 11 for PC, PS3, Wii & Xbox 360, FIFA 11 Ultimate Team for PS3 & Xbox 360, Madden NFL 11 for PS3, Wii & Xbox 360, Madden NFL 11 Ultimate Team for PS3 & Xbox 360, NBA JAM for PS3 & Xbox 360, NBA LIVE 10 for PS3 & Xbox 360, NCAA Football 11 for PS3 & Xbox 360, NHL 11 for PS3 & Xbox 360 and NHL 11 Ultimate Team for PS3 & Xbox 360 January 14, 2013: The Sims 2 for PC/MAC and TheSims2.com January 19, 2013: Trenches II for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch Not many people play these games as they are quite outdated anyway, I feel as if keeping the servers up is a waste of money.

Internet Celebrates It's 30th Birthday

The first version of the internet only way to link only a few of academic computers together. There was no world wide web, email or Facebook. But in January 1983, thirty years ago computer scientists agreed on a standardised protocol for linking computers together. Now, in 2013 the internet is a trillion pound industry (used by 2.4 billion people) that has completely revolutionised the way we communicate with each other. There are more devices connected to the internet than there are people on Earth and it will be forever increasing.

Apple iPhone 5S release date, features, price and rumours

The Apple iPhone 5S release date could be as soon as June 2013 if some reports are to be believed with the phone set to feature NFC, different colours and more. I will be making another, more detailed post later on.

BBC Sport App for iPhone

BBC finally have a Sports App for the iPhone. To be fair, I thought the iPhone already had an app for the iPhone, since it has been on android for a while now. The design looks similar to the popular BBC Sport website, the app will display news stories and live scores as well as allowing you to customise which sport gets the most attention.

PS4 to be announced next month?

Sony are planning on hosting an event next month entitled ‘Destination Playstation to show off its 2013 releases. Sparking rumours that we’ll hear about it’s next gaming console. I don't feel as if it is necessary for a PS4 as I can't imagine what is left to add to the PS3. I will upload a more in depth post later on.

Sony Launches Xperia Z

The announcement of the Sony Xperia Z was to be expected as I had already seen a leak about a new phone.
It's certainly a strong showing from Sony as the 5-inch Xperia Z is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro chip and runs the latest version of Android, Jelly Bean. There's 16GB of storage and the option to expand this with a microSD card - a good thing too because the 5-inch Bravia screen is fully 1080p capable. It also sports a 13MP rear-facing camera capable of 1080p video and a 2MP front-facing snapper that can deal with 720p video.
