The Reluctant Expat

Some people are reluctant to go out on that expat assignment. To go off to another country and leave their home behind.
Me? At times I find myself reluctant to leave my expat state. To go back home and leave my host country behind.
Its an odd place to be, as there are also times I think about going back with excitement and eagerness. And there are other times that I feel like I'm missing a part of my life and missing out on the lives of people who were (and still are) important to me back in my home country.
I'm slowly trying to come to grips with the fact that the situation I have found myself in is part of the expat conundrum and that I'll probably always be walking this fine line.
