The Reds, Pinks & Purples have shared ‘Learning to Love a Band’ ahead of new album, ‘Unwishing Well’, which is out on 12 April.
Following the brilliantly titled ‘Your Worst Song is Your Greatest Hit’, this melodic and melancholy piece finds Glenn Donaldson in a wistful place: ‘Learning to Love a Band’ is about that blissful moment when you realize you truly love and understand a band’s music, but it’s also about being in a band, and that honeymoon phase you find yourself in which inevitably ends.’
As well as celebrating the joys and emotions of music as a fan, the song also celebrates the beautiful, yet sometimes fleeting and difficult, moments that all band members seem to go through at times: ‘I thought you knew we both shared a dream. Can’t help but trash the room and spoil everything because you’re learning to love a band’.
