Since the beginning of August, Xiaomi has announced three devices in India: the Redmi 9, the Redmi 9 Prime and the Redmi 9C. But according to leaker Ishan Agarwalthe Chinese OEM might have another device up its sleeve. Agarwal told Pricebaba Xiaomi is preparing to announce another budget-friendly phone for India called the Redmi 9i.
Pricebaba indicates that the 9i is likely a renamed variant of the Redmi 9A with more RAM and additional internal storage. Xiaomi released the 9A in Malaysia in June. It has a 6.53-inch display with an aspect ratio of 20: 9 and a resolution of 1,600 x 720. Internally, the phone has the recently announced Helio G25 chipset from MediaTek, a 5,000 mAh battery, 2 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage. The phone has a single 13-megapixel primary camera with an LED flash and a 5-megapixel camera for taking selfies. On the software side, it comes with Xiaomi's MIUI Android skin.

At least one difference between the 9i and the 9A is that it supposedly contains 4GB of RAM and will be available in 64GB and 128GB storage configurations. In addition, on the website, Xiaomi will sell the phone in three colors: Nature Green, Sea Blue and Midnight Black.
Given Agarwal's track record and the tendency for smartphone companies to flood the Indian market with a wide variety of devices at different prices, it does not seem inappropriate to point out that Xiaomi is preparing another Redmi 9 variant. If it's real, we'll likely learn more about the Redmi 9i soon enough.
