MAR130868

Uber #1

By: Kieron Gillen, Canaan White

Publisher: Avatar Press

Price: $3.99

The Lowdown: This is a new superhero story from a publisher that isn’t Marvel or DC Comics.

Steve Niles

Criminal Macabre: No Peace for Dead Men TPB

By: Steve Niles, Eric Powell, Christopher Mitten, Michelle Madsen, Fiona Staples

Publisher: Dark Horse

Price: $17.99

The Lowdown: A Cal MacDonald mystery is always a good time. If you don’t know who Cal MacDonald is, he is like an American John Constantine. This trade paperback collects a few of Cal’s cases including a crossover with the Goon.

Batman

Batman #20

By: Scott Snyder, Alex Maleev, Greg Capullo

Publisher: DC Comics

Price: $3.99

The Lowdown: The solicit promises a team-up with Batman that people have been clamoring for since the very beginning. I don’t know what that means though. Superman?

Batman

Batman And Red Hood #20

By:  Peter J. Tomasi, Patrick Gleason, Mick Gray

Publisher: DC Comics

Price: $2.99

The Lowdown: Batman and Robin continues its tour around Batman’s allies, this time with Red Hood. I keep something dramatic to happen whenever Jason crosses paths with Batman but so far there has been nothing. Here’s hoping for one more time.

DC new 52

Suicide Squad #20

By: Alex Kot, ChrisCross, Jason Pearson

Publisher: DC Comics

Price: $2.99

The Lowdown: The Suicide Squad ended up kind of disappointing. I think it is an awesome premise though, which is why I’m giving this new creative team a shot.

Steve Niles

Chin Music #1

By: Steve Niles, Tony Harris

Publisher: Image Comics

Price: $2.99

The Lowdown: Chin Music is about a man unstuck in time who shows up in Prohibition era Chicago stuck between the gangster and supernatural underworld. I always like a good horror-noir from Steve Niles.

MAR130496

Comeback TPB

By: Ed Brisson, Michael Walsh

Publisher: Image Comics

Price: $14.99

The Lowdown: This is the collected 5-issue miniseries involving a time traveling agency that can fix your problems for a huge price, and the agents of said agency on the run when everything inevitably goes to hell.

Avengers

Avengers #11

By: Jonathan Hickman, Mike Deodato, Dustin Weaver

Publisher: Marvel Comics

Price: $3.99

The Lowdown: Shang-Chi gets the spotlight fighting an ancient villain while the Avengers hang out in Hong Kong at a casino. That doesn’t seem fair, but whatever.

Fearless Defenders #4

By: Cullen Bunn, Will Sliney, Mark Brooks

Publisher: Marvel Comics

Price: $2.99

The Lowdown: Guess who’s origin is a sham? Valkyrie! Time to learn the truth.

X-Men

Uncanny X-Force #4

By: Sam Humphries, Ron Garney, Kris Anka

Publisher: Marvel Comics

Price: $3.99

The Lowdown: They have playing it really close to the vest with this book. There is still a lot to reveal, like what the hell are Fantomex and Cluster doing and what the hell happened to Bishop?
