Considering this Wednesday is Halloween, I thought there be some really cool Halloween-themed issues. Unfortunately, that is not the case. In fact, because this is a 5-Wednesday month, the choices are pretty scarce. So this will be a short one.

The Lowdown: Finally, it is the finale of The Others story arc. I feel like I have called the last few issues as the finale since the solicitations always tease the conclusion.

The Lowdown: I am not sure if this is an on-going or a mini-series or a one-shot. All it says is issue 1. Anyway, it wouldn’t be Halloween without a horror anthology. Ghosts collects some real cool sounding stories like a space heist on a ghost ship and a spirit who wants to play with a techno band. The one that I think sounds the most interesting is follows a ghost-for-hire agency where you can go and hire a haunting. Some of DC’s biggest talents including Geoff Johns is working on this. Don’t know about you, but I am definitely checking it out.
Joe Kubert Presents #1 (of 6)

The Lowdown: Back in August, Joe Kubert, a legend in the comic book industry, passed away at the age of 85. He will be fondly remembered. This is another anthology coming from DC, but this one isn’t horror. This one was something Kubert had been working on that was announced in July right before his death. In his own words that he told to THE SOURCE, “I’ve been given the privilege to design the kind of comic book that I would enjoy reading and one in which I’d like to participate. This is it. I’ll be doing Hawkman, Spit, The Redeemer, Sgt. Rock and The Biker in this 6-issue anthology.” RIP Kubert.
