Must read comics debuting on 6/4/2014

John Carpenter

Big Trouble In Little China #1

If you want to know my opinion on John Carpenter’s Big Trouble in Little China, you can find it here. I dig it for what it is, and I always wanted to see a sequel. It’s not afraid to have fun Kurt Russel is clearly having a blast. I am kind of skeptical without Russel or Carpenter involved, but Eric Powell kind of nails the idea with his series, The Goon.

Arrow

Green Arrow #32

With the Outsiders War arc over (but I’m willing to bet not done), this is the perfect moment to jump on to one of DC Comics’ best series right now. Richard Dragon, a surviving outsider from the fist clan, has put together a super team of Arrow baddies to try and take Seattle from Green Arrow.

Nailbiter #2

I didn’t put the first issue up because I thought this was just another serial killer story. Or from the cover, a zombie story. Anyways, I’m glad I ended up picking it up. It’s not just about the Nailbiter, a serial killer who likes to chew on the fingertips of his victims. It is about his Hannibal Lector-esque team up with a cop to figure out why so many serial killers seem to come out of his hometown, Buckaroo, Oregon.

New Warriors #5

The New Warriors has been a good old fashioned superhero book. This particular issue is the first since the debut arc finished and seems to be focused on Speedball, the most hated man in America. You might remember that the Stamford explosion was blamed on him, and he became the emo-anti-hero, Penance. It has been a long road to get him back to the goofy guy he debuted as, but I think this issue will pee back some the layers, show his inner struggle.

Avengers

Original Sin #3

I am really digging this event book. I guess you can say that about the beginning of a lot of Marvel events. Let’s hope it ends just as good. Its moving pretty good.

Spider-Man

Superior Foes Of Spider-Man #12

One of Marvel’s best books. I’ll always suggest it, but this one deserves extra credit. Just look at that awesome cover.

Ninja Turtles

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #34

I love these Ninja Turtle comics, and some cool stuff is making it’s debut. Krang’s Technodrome. The robotic turtle, Metalhead. Hell, yeah!
