The Pull List: 12/11/13

Must read comics of the week of 12/11

Hellboy

Abe Sapien #8

Publisher: Dark Horse

So, this series has been going on for a little while. I missed the beginning of it though. They are selling this as a jumping on point so everyone should check it out, myself included.

Batman Batgirl

Batgirl #26

Publisher: DC Comics

Honestly, I have not been enjoying Gail Simone’s Batgirl. Too much filler. So much prose for a medium that is visual enough not to need it. Barb’s steam of consciousness in the middle of a fight is great, but sometimes she spends too much time painting the picture that I am already looking at. That said, the cover is really intriguing. I hope they have the guts to follow through.

Dead Body Road #1

Publisher: Image Comics

A good old fashioned revenge tale that pits a man against the killers that caused the death of his wife.

OCT130290

FBP Federal Bureau Of Physics #6

Publisher: DC Comics

One of the coolest new books this year, FBP is about a peace-keeping department much like the FBI that tracks and fixes anomalies of physics.  Now is as good a time as any to jump on this great fun title.

Batman Justice League

Justice League #25

Publisher: DC Comics

To those reading Forever Evil or any of the tie-ins, it comes as no surprise that Nightwing has been captured by the Crime Syndicate and unmasked on live television. Back tracking a little, this issue seems o be focusing on the one-on-one Dick Grayson has with the too powerful Syndicate.

Arrow

Katana #10

Publisher: DC Comics

I have been hot and cold on Katana. It’s not great but not bad. It has to do with The Outsiders though, who Green Arrow is also facing off against. I would expect these titles to collide pretty soon.

Christmas

Krampus #1

Publisher: Image Comics

Ok, this one sounds like a great idea! There is a council of Santas who are the ones who secretly bring joy to the children of the world. Unfortunately, someone is stealing all their power. In order to figure out who is doing this, the Santas call in their biggest rival, THE KRAMPUS. It’s Snake Plissken meets The Grinch.

Avengers

Mighty Avengers #4

Publisher: Marvel Comics

It is very possible that the identity of the new Ronin has already been spoiled for you. To me, its not that big of a deal because it shouldn’t even be a secret. But hopefully we get some new information about him this issue and they stop burying the lead.
