The Pull List: 10/28/2015

Buzz-worthy books of the week.

The Pull List: 10/28/2015 Art Ops #1

This one is a weird one. Apparently, figures from famous paintings have jumped out of their images to wreak havoc on the world. And there is already a task force in place to stop them. Because apparently this is apparently something that happens.

Batman and Robin Eternal #4

This series continues to be everything I want out of a Bat-family series, including the unpopular opinion that Batman should take a back seat to his teammates and mentors. Mostly, because he casts a big shadow, and it is better to depict the consequences of that while he's not actively casting that shadow.

Black Magik #1

Honestly, I have been suggesting a lot of number 1 issues lately, and I would like not to do it as often. Except its Halloween and this is a horror book. And it is written by Greg Rucka, who had a kickass Punisher run.

Captain America: Sam Wilson #2

If a comic is going to get the ire up of Fox News, then it is probably worth checking out. This version of Captain America is going to be a controversial run, not just because Captain America is now a black guy (something that should be so trivial in my opinion). It is holding up a fun house mirror to America and showing us some things about ourselves that a lot of people will have a hard time digesting.

Fight Club 2 #6

I can't remember exactly what happened last issue, but overall it has been great. So yea, this gets a suggestion.

The Pull List: 10/28/2015
Grayson #13

Dick Grayson has faked his death as Nightwing and become a super spy for Spyral. This book has gotten some good reviews, and I haven't bothered to give it a good look-see. Seeing Dick Grayson back in action in Batman and Robin Eternal has me wanting to finally give it a shot.

The Pull List: 10/28/2015
Hellboy & B.P.R.D. 1953 Phantom Hand & Kelpie #1

It's Halloween week and Hellboy has a new book. Of course, it makes the list.

The Pull List: 10/28/2015
Howling Commandos of SHIELD #1

More Halloween goodness as Marvel dusts off some of their monster related characters to make a supernatural team for SHIELD. They have tried it before, and it is a premise I really want to stick. Here's hoping this one has the stuff.

The Pull List: 10/28/2015
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #51

A new chapter in the Ninja Turtles story starts here. Splinter has defeated the Shredder but at great cost. He crossed a line his sons thought he never would, and it is bound to have repercussions. Mikey has already walked away from the fam. Who's next?

The Pull List: 10/28/2015
Wes Craven's Coming of Rage #1

This is our first Halloween without horror icon, Wes Craven (RIP), but he made sure that we didn't go without some work by him. Good on, ya Wes! Working with horror comic writer, Steve Niles, they worked to make a narrative out of the joke premise, "A Werewolf, a Vampire, and a Zombie walk into a bar...."
