Verdict on The Prank

The Prank is a horror comedy following a couple of high school students who play a prank on a teacher for revenge. However, the social media backlash sees everything spiral out of control, leading to unexpected events.

This movie gets to play with a couple of fun horror comedy ideas. On one side, we see how dangerous social media rumours can become. Meanwhile, the horror elements come from a tense mystery behind everything. The two sides come together nicely and while it does feel predictable. It still manages to bring a few shocks to the story. This becomes a fun horror comedy with a twisted side to everything. Rita Moreno is wonderful in the leading role, showing a strict side in a teacher, and we have all had a teacher like her.
