Here it is, the point of school in one sentence. (It’s a really long sentence, so I’ve included ellipses to break up the text.)
To create an environment comprised of high character educators that help students feel safe, secure, and part of a caring community . . . that expose students to a wide diversity of subjects, ideas, and activities . . . and that support students in engaging in the deliberate practice of a discipline of their choice over an extended period of time in pursuit of mastery.
This isn’t the only definition. But it’s a pretty good one.
