It's no surprise that Bonifacio Global City has started to become one of the default places to go for celebrations over good food, booze, and company - after all, it's among the few places where one can find gastropubs that are distinctly its own. Case in point: The Perfect Pint: Craft Beer x Fine Food, one of BGC's latest additions to its string of watering holes. It's located on the second floor of Crossroads Building (the same one housing the drive-thru Starbucks and Grams Diner), situated nearby S&R Fort and MC Home Depot.
The Perfect Pint is owned by the Tempongko brothers, Alec, Raymond, and Noel. Noel tells Rappler: "We decided to look for something that can be good enough offering for a notch higher experience. We define it as a notch higher because [it is] something that is more flavorful, something that will enhance the experience of our customers - so in the search process, we discovered craft beer."
As I've been a spotty blogger lately, MommyStar did the honour of writing about her experience at The Perfect Pint.
All F&B photos were grabbed from the bar's official Facebook page.***
It was a joint birthday and despedida party for our family. We wanted to celebrate in a happy place, but one whose mood and ambience were not too overpowering to drown our conversations. We didn't have to look far and wide. Off we headed to The Perfect Pint!
At 7pm on a Friday night, the place was already packed with young professionals kicking off the weekend.
Our newlyweds (whose despedida was half the reason for the reunion) took care of the night's feast: Calamari Negra, Mussels, Kapal Muks, Sausage Platter, Crispy Pigs, Guts and Glory, Stinky Cheese Pizza, Triple Pepperoni Pizza, Truffle Pizza, Pan Seared Salmon with Creamy Calamansi Pesto, Monster Meatball Pasta, and Pasta Puttanesca. I'm not about to do an individual taste-by-taste review, but suffice to say that everything was yummy!
Sausage Platter Mussels Stinky Cheese Pizza Pan Seared Salmon with Creamy Calamansi PestoWhat stood out for me though were the Stinky Pizza (All-Cheese Pizza) and the Kapal Muks (pork dish), which are recommended to be paired with specific craft beers to complement the flavors. The food x beer pairings are handled by Cafe Ysabel's Chef Gene Gonzales, who acts as consultant to The Perfect Pint's menu offerings.
The men sampled The Perfect Pint's claim to fame: their craft beers. Us ladies agreed to come back if only to get a taste of the specialty beers.
Amidst our group of grown-ups was little Enzo. He did not feel out of place or bored at all. Of course, it helped that he had an afternoon nap, but I guess it was also because he enjoyed the vibe of the place and there was food that catered to him, too. Enzo loved the pizza with his pineapple shake.
Owners of The Perfect Pint, The Tempongko brothers, are good friends. Noel, in particular, proudly introduced his staff and his chef to us. This was a most welcome gesture because we immediately felt familiar and comfortable with the place and the people. He kept a watchful eye to ensure we were well attended to. Did the staff give us special treatment? Of course they did. But so did they to the other customers, regardless of affiliation.
In terms of the crowd, The Perfect Pint draws a good mix of professionals and businessmen, locals & foreigners (young and not-so-young). A lot of tables were occupied by people (like us) who stayed a while to have a good time. Others went in for a quick drink. No one table was too rowdy, too annoying or bothersome to the others. The place just had a good vibe.
What also excited us was that we got to see ourselves on TV - The Perfect Pint 's unit is hooked to Eventsagram, which essentially functions as a real-time Instagram feed for parties/ events. That kept us entertained in between pleasantries.
For our next visit, I am thinking of having the Stinky Cheese Pizza again, as well as their Lengua with Crispy Garlic. And the beers, ohhh the beers! But then again, it really is the good vibe and happy atmosphere of The Perfect Pint that will make me come back again and again. Cheers to The Perfect Pint!
