The Perfect Autumn Dress

By Winyeemichelle
For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of finding the elusive ‘perfect autumn dress’. It’d be a dark floral - inky as the early nightfall, it’d have delicate sleeves - skimming the arms yet giving just enough over-wrist coverage, and it’d hit at a just-so length - not quite knee length but lovely and demure in that achingly chic way that emulates the achingly chic season of autumn. Well my friends, in eight years of blogging and twenty six years of life, I’ve finally done it. Meet my perfect autumn dress.
I bloody LOVE this dress from Glamorous. Whilst the label wouldn’t often be my first port of call, a little scroll through the hallowed pages of ASOS before work one day led me to add this to my basket and it is love. Lent a subtle texture by way of a crepe fabrication, this one comes sans bells and whistles: no bell sleeves, off-shoulder details, frills or ruffles, just a clean-cut crew neckline, sleeves that fall just to the palms and a length that hits above the knee and looks damn great paired with boots.
I’ve been embracing the new season with both arms lately. My weeks are busier than ever and it’s pretty nice to borrow time from my days to get outside for a stroll, embrace the breeze and even embrace the inevitable heatstroke at noon because you decided to crack out a roll neck jumper a week too soon. Mornings are often spent with a coffee in one hand and a notebook in the other, noting thoughts, ideas and plans down whilst trading stories of the night with my boyfriend (dream swapping is the actual greatest), afternoons bleed hour by hour into one another, hazy lunch dates with interludes of client calls and goal-chasing. Things are quite peachy around these parts and I just cannot complain a jot.
Autumn lately, is all kinda of perfect.
